Jonas, at just about twenty five, is heading nowhere. It’s hard being a millennial with a miscellaneous college degree and no particular direction, so when his brother Luke sets him up with a temp job at the company he works for, Jonas leaps at the chance. At least it has to be better than working in retail. It’s even possible that this may be the job that changes the course of his life.

The duties of an administrative assistant are relatively straightforward, and the corporate culture is much as Jonas expected. What he hadn’t expected was for his boss, Tristan, to be only a few years older than Jonas himself, and notoriously volatile. At first, Jonas is convinced that Tristan has a vendetta against him – or possibly just a vendetta against the rest of mankind. Tristan is irritable, bossy and commandeering, and Jonas is all set to hate him until he discovers that there’s more to Tristan’s life than meets the eye, and that Tristan’s attitude towards him might be covering up something else.

No good can come from getting involved with your boss, especially when the boss is another guy with an attitude Jonas can’t fathom. But once things start to fall into place between him and Tristan – once Tristan becomes dependent on Jonas for more than just work – Jonas finds that he can’t seem to pull away, no matter how bad an idea this all is. Jonas isn’t gay, and Tristan isn’t the sort of guy to have a happy-ever-after with anyone. Or could Jonas be wrong?
